Worship (KC 107)

Start Date: 9/30/2024
End Date: 12/9/2024
Time: 9:00PM - 10:30PM EST
Frequency: Bi-Weekly | MONDAYS
Number of Classes: 6

In this course, The Heart ♥️ of A Worshipper, we will cover what God says about worship according to Old and New Testament scripture. Some great books have been written on Worship however, others are so convoluted, that the young in Christ, will give up and be content staying at chapter one. That is not the intent for this class. This Introduction to worship, will outline a few simple guidelines that will help you get to the heart of God, worship from the spirit within you, what is acceptable worship and unacceptable worship, what role music plays in worship, challenges and how to overcome distractions, as you set an atmosphere conducive for the presence of God.

Other areas we will cover are listed below:

1. Do I need to have my own personal time with God

2. Why does my heart matter in worship

3. Worship as a lifestyle, integrating worship into my daily life

4. Setting a foundation for worship

Books:

  • Holy Bible
  • How ToWorship God by Rev. Allen Smith

These scriptures are the foundation for the course:

St John 4:23-24 AMPC

A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine)

worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is

seeking just such people as these as His worshippers.

God is a spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in

spirit and in truth (reality).

2 Corin 3:17 AMPC

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty

(emancipation from bondage, freedom).

This course is open to anyone who desires to have a deeper relationship with the

Father through worship. Understanding and participating in worship, will enhance

your private time with God, as you approach His throne. Some of the key elements

of study will include: Preparing your mind for worship, spending time in God’s word

and listening to worship music. As we take a deeper dive into entering the presence

of God, it is required that you attend each class, as there will be time for report-

outs during each session. I encourage you to actively study each handout (group

settings or independently) and take appropriate notes, in preparation for the

written assignment, following each class. There will be required reading and a final

essay due at the conclusion of the course. Any and all books may be purchased

through “Amazon”.

Fun Fact: As a little girl, I remember Saturday mornings were for doing laundry and getting our hair washed and pressed for Sunday service as my parents blasted artist from Motown on the record player. Even today gospel music is a big part of my worship, it fuels me and propels me to enter into the presence of God. Some of my favorite worship leaders are Jason Nelson, Maranda Curtis, Israel Houghton, Todd Dulaney and Todd Galberth.
